My best friend is getting married and I am helping her find a venue that will hold 100-150 people. What will the cost be for the facility rental as well as catering package options?

I am a Relationship Therapist in San Diego and offer workshops for both couples and individuals multiple times per year. I am interested in learning more about your meeting rooms as a possible venue for my workshops.

The workshops typically begin at 8:00 am and end at approximately 7-7:30 pm on Saturday and Sunday and as I said I offer the workshops 6-10 times per year. My attendance varies from 6-20 people. The workshops are very experiential but I generally have a power point so we sit in semi-circle to facilitate discussion. The participants have some time to do some personal writing and practicing of the communication tools so a space that is large enough or places to go that would allow some privacy would be important.

My hope is to increase the attendance and have a more consistent registration. One of the difficulties I’ve faced thus far is that I sometimes don’t know how many people will attend until the week of the workshop. I have had to cancel a few due to lack of attendance. So, I’m curious about your cancellation policy particularly as I build my attendance base.

I am also interested in your policies regarding food. I have been providing continental breakfast with fruit and some snacks throughout the day. The participants have been on their own for lunch. So, I’m interested in your food services and the options around this.

My next workshop is June 30-July 1 but I have a venue for that one so I would be looking at the weekends of September 29-30 and October 6-7 for the next workshop dates.

I will look forward to hearing from you.
    Garet

I will be married on December 16, 2012 and I would like to know if this venue is still available on that date. I want the waterfront venue, and we will be having 200 guests. Thank you very much.

  5. Brandy Wood:

    Hello,
I am planning an anniversary party for next March and was wondering what the difference in pricing includes. The special event pricing is nearly twice the conference rates and was wondering what else in included in the event prices.
    Thanks

    • larissa:

      Hi Brandy,

Special event rates are set for events such as weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, reunions, etc. They are typically determined by the setup and time – for example, the only time we really run into grey areas are times when someone wants to host an event like a wine-and-cheese book signing. Something along those lines.

The rates for special events include setup of undressed tables, chairs, and a portable dance floor (in rooms that don’t have a built-in dance floor). We allow for a five-hour event time, but clients are allowed to come as early as 9AM to start dropping off items, and the latest end time is 12AM (excluding NYE). Clients are welcome to bring their own food, beverages, rental items, and vendors.

The rates for meetings include tables with white or ivory mid-level linens, standard banquet chairs, a water cooler, and a max of eight hours (such as 9A to 5P), which is ideal for groups that need two sessions (such as 8A-12P & 1P-5P). We have clients such as SDPD, traffic schools, CPR classes, yoga classes, trade shows, etc.

For more info, please call 619 222 1620 or email specialevents@marinavillage.net. If you choose to respond with your own phone or email, I can forward that over to the conference center crew and have them get in touch. Hope to speak with you soon.

      Best,
      Larissa

Do you have availability for a lunch baby shower on March 23,2013? We’d like a place that can hold 40-50 people. I’d also like to visit the venue this weekend so i can see the rooms. Are you open this weekend?

    Thank you so much :)
